What is service design?
Service design researches how people experience a service, organisation, place or system. It helps identify what is working, where people encounter difficulties and how experiences could be improved.
Touchpoint Co-design uses research, ethnography, observation, collaborative workshops and creative problem-solving to help develop practical solutions that respond to people's needs.
What kinds of organisations do you work with?
Touchpoint Co-design is particularly interested in working with organisations creating positive environmental, community and social impact. This may include not-for-profits, community organisations, government bodies, education providers and environmental organisations.
I'm interested in projects that improve how people connect with services, communities, places, information and initiatives that matter.
What kinds of projects can you help with?
Projects may involve understanding a complex problem, improving a service or program, engaging communities, developing a new initiative, communicating research or designing experiences for public spaces.
Depending on your needs, services may include research, co-design, prototype development, implementation support, branding and visual identity, publication design, or evaluation.
What if I know something needs to change, but I'm not sure what the solution is?
You don't need to have all the answers before getting in touch. A free introductory conversation gives us an opportunity to discuss your organisation, the challenge you're facing and what you'd like to achieve.
If your project needs more detailed exploration, a paid consultation can help clarify the problem, review relevant information and identify appropriate next steps.
How do you involve communities and stakeholders?
Depending on the project, I may use interviews, observation, stakeholder mapping, community research and facilitated co-design sessions to understand different perspectives.
The approach is tailored to the people involved and the needs of the project, helping ensure their experiences and insights inform the design process.
Do you only work on projects from start to finish?
No. You can engage Touchpoint Co-design for a specific service or stage of a project, or work together across several stages.
For example, you might need research to understand a problem, a co-design session to explore ideas, support developing and testing a prototype, or help communicating your findings. The scope can be tailored to your project's needs.
What will I receive at the end of a project?
Deliverables depend on the service and project scope. They may include research findings, stakeholder maps, journey maps, recommendations, workshop outcomes, prototypes, visual identities, publications or evaluation reports.
The intended outputs will be discussed and agreed upon as part of defining the project.
How much does a project cost?
Every project has different requirements, so pricing depends on the scope, complexity and deliverables involved.
Get in touch to discuss your project and request a quote. Once we understand what you need, we can establish an appropriate scope and outline the proposed work and costs.
Can you help us test an idea before we commit to implementing it?
Yes. Prototype development allows ideas to be explored, tested and refined before significant resources are committed to implementation.
Depending on the project, this may involve concept designs, prototypes, co-design activities, feedback sessions and evaluation.
Can you help us communicate research or complex information?
Yes. Publication graphic design can turn research, stories, findings and project outcomes into clear, engaging materials. Outputs may include reports, educational publications, brochures, infographics, information resources and presentations.
These materials can help organisations communicate their work and make information more accessible to the people who need it.
Where are you based, and which areas do you service?
Touchpoint Co-design primarily works with organisations in Perth and across Western Australia.
Projects are primarily delivered in person, which supports collaboration, observation and engagement with the people, places and services involved. The appropriate approach will depend on your project's location and requirements.
Can you work with us in person?
Yes. In-person collaboration is the primary approach, particularly where a project benefits from site visits, observing how people experience a service or place, or bringing stakeholders together for co-design.
The format and arrangements can be discussed when defining your project.
How do we get started?
